Description
This is the easiest peppermint chocolate swirl bark recipe you need to make for Christmas this year. This is a mint coloured chocolate bark which is swirled with semi sweet chocolate and flavoured with delicious peppermint extract.
Ingredients
Scale
- 226g (8 ounces) white couverture chocolate
- 3 drops green gel food coloring
- 50g semi sweet couverture chocolate
- ½ teaspoon pure peppermint extract
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
- Melt the white chocolate. Use a double boiler or microwave. If using microwave, stir the chocolate every 20 seconds to help avoid seizing.
- Once melted and smooth, stir in green food coloring and peppermint extract. Set aside.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in the same manner you melted the chocolate in step 2.
- Pour the green mint flavoured chocolate onto prepared baking sheet and spread out into a large rectangle. Bang your baking pan on all sides to help it cover maximum area.
- Drizzle the semi sweet chocolate mixture on top in horizontal lines (left to right and vice versa). Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the layers together. Move the toothpick vertically multiple times (top to bottom and vice versa) to form these pretty swirls.
- Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature in a cool, dry environment. It usually takes around 30-45 minutes. If needed, you can stick it in the refrigerator to help speed things up. Once hardened, break into pieces as large or as small as you want.
- Store bark in an airtight container at room temperature for upto 10 days or in the refrigerator for upto 3 weeks. See freezing instructions in FAQs.
